I use sharpies on my converse, and my mom kills me each time… :p

Hi Caitlin,

you wear really cool jeans.

I doodle on my Jeans since I was a teenager (35 years ago). Also today (you can guess how old I’m now) I doodle on the jeans I wear at the moment if I’m bored. In Germany we use “Eddings” for not fading scribblings on clothes. Edding pens are comparable with sharpies.

I admire your mom. My mom always freaked out when I had ruined a new pair of jeans with my scribblings or ripping once again.

But I lost this passion never until now and hopefully will lose it.

six years ago? how ’bout 41 years ago?! when i was a freshman in high school i lightly bleached and drew cartoons all over my jeans—way back in 1969!

and i stumbled across this blog while looking for ways to start decorating my jeans again—this time with sharpies instead of the “magic markers” that i used back in the day.

News Flash: you werent the first to do this kid. I did it 6 years ago and I wasnt the first either, not even close. Kids have been doing this for years. While it is a fun and creative idea to make yourself stand out from the crowd you didnt come up with it, it probably started back when Sharpies were invented.

I agree with Diana. I like the idea but think more of pictures – flowers – hearts, guitars…..Don’t think I would be so proud of my 15 year daughter displaying this choice of word art nor be a proud mom saying how great it is….

Love the Sharpie idea on the jeans. A great way to show your own style and to state things that are important to you. BUT how old is this girl? Some of the comments on her jeans seem way too adult….

One thing I would say as to whether or not she should frame them–just don’t throw any of them out! Someday she can make a quilt or SOMETHING with the pieces and she will be glad that she has them. Just set them aside and forget about it but then in 20+ years she’ll be able to do something fun with them even though it’s not heir apparent this second.
