Ink it Pink and Support City of Hope

Grace inking it Pink!

Ready to Ink it Pink this October alongside your favorite celebrities, sports superstars and fellow Sharpie lovers?! This month we are making pink the new black in the autograph world as we kick off our annual “Ink It Pink” campaign to help fight breast cancer.

We are challenging celebrities, our incredible fans and YOU to ink it pink for the cause.  For every pink autograph submitted to www.sharpie.com during the month of October, we will donate $1* to City of Hope, one of the nation’s leading cancer research, treatment and education centers.

The movement is already underway as rock star, Grace Potter from Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, has already signed on to the Ink It Pink effort!  Potter helped kick-off the campaign Saturday, September 24, during her band’s concert in New York City’s Central Park where she inked pink autographs for fans and encouraged them to do the same and send them over to sharpie.com!

You may remember last year was a HUGE success as hundreds of A-listers, from Hollywood movie legends and hall-of-fame athletes to revered rocks stars and respected media icons, lent their signatures to the effort.(Miley Cyrus’ Ink it Pink video is STILL our highest viewed on the Sharpie YouTube channel!)

Well this year is no different! The pink signatures have already started rolling in, including Shay Mitchell from Pretty Little Liars and 19-time Olympic medalist,  Michael Phelps, and you can help, too!

Bring on the Heat!

At 9:27 p.m. on July 8th the top three free agents in the professional basketball league officially joined forces when LeBron James announced his decision to play for the Miami Heat, with his buds & now teammates, to essentially form a superpower dream team, or the Three Kings as some have coined the trio.  A momentous occasion indeed!

Taken from NBA.com

What does this have to do with Sharpie? — Sharpie will be front and center TONIGHT at The HEAT Summer of 2010 Welcome Event celebrating Dwyane Wade’s return to the team, and to introduce Chris Bosh and LeBron James to the South Florida family.  This once in a lifetime celebration is scheduled to begin at 8:00 p.m. at the AmericanAirlines Arena with Live statewide TV coverage on FOX.  FOX Sports Florida will provide exclusive live coverage of the press conference, beginning at 7:30 p.m. ET - Sharpie holding literally the best seat in the house!  At the press conference, all three allstars will be fully equipped with Sharpie Pens to lay down their signatures on to what could be the most important document ever to be laid in front of them… THEIR HEAT CONTRACTS!  Wade, James and Bosh will then autograph photographs that will be framed along with their respective Sharpie Pens.  The autographed photos & mounted Sharpie Pens will later be auctioned off to charity.

We will be posting exclusive footage from the event – so Stay Tuned!  Look out for the Sharpie Stainless Steel markers tonight and pick one up for yourself so that you can Uncap What’s Inside & bring the HEAT just like Chris Bosh, Lebron James & Dwyane Wade!

Russell “Brands” Rolling Stone with Sharpie

Do you ever find yourself wondering what kind of permanent marker Russell Brand prefers to sign autographs with? Maybe even pose with from time to time?  Trust me, this is a completely normal question and perhaps even one that takes priority over other important questions on your mind, such as, “What’s for dinner?”  “Is that essay test tomorrow?” or ”Was it my turn to pick Billy up from practice?”

Lucky for you, I’ve got plenty of time to peruse the magazine stands and make your life a bit easier…

The current issue of Rolling Stone Magazine, (featuring Jay-Z on the front cover) shows Get Him to the Greek star, Russell Brand posing with a black Fine Point Sharpie marker in hand, along with an autographed copy of his very own cover issue!

*sigh* And now you may return to your other inquiries.

Have you UNCAPPED today?

Conan Tweets Sharpie!

On Tuesday, Conan O’Brien tweeted about a cool opportunity he had to uncap some self-expression at Radio City Music Hall in NYC!  Check out how Conan used his Sharpie Twin Tip:

“I got to sign the Radio City signature book next to the Glee cast. Now I can forge all their signatures on checks.”

The Don Makes a BOLD Statement

Styleite.com, a popular fashion & beauty website, reported on the airing of a commercial showing Trump’s hair being blown off of his head in an article they titled,  “Donald Trump’s Toupée Is Too Sensitive For TV.”  Apparently this title did not tickle Mr. Trump’s fancy, so he took matters into his own hands by sending a letter to the author.

On a print out of the article, Trump wrote in black Sharpie ink:

“I DON’T wear a toupée.

It’s ALL mine (for better or worse).”

The actual letter! (Read full article at Styleite.com)

Just goes to show, when it comes to self-expression, nothing beats a Sharpie.  (Even this kajillionaire knows it!)
